Asshat Bot

Post by n00less cluebie » Thu Nov 13, 2008 12:14 pm

Any Botmakers out there want to help me code a new bot?

The idea is simple.

It's the AsshatBot, and each turn it will look for the biggest continent it can break the easiest, and then place all it's armies to asshat said player-Break the continent and then pull back. If no continents are breakable, it puts it's armies in any continent where someone has a clear advantage to taking it (e.g. Red holds Western and Eastern Oz, White Holds New Guinea with 1 army, and our Asshat Bot has Indonesia. Clearly, our Asshat bot places in Indonesia....

So it needs to be able to compute paths of least resistance from countries it owns to border countries of continents. Perhaps, if it is possible, it will try to asshat multiple players on one turn, though I'm not sure about this part in terms of codability.

Anyone want to take this on?

Boscoe would be a good starting bot to modify for this. He has code to break continents of a player if they get too big. He's included in the SDK.

Boscoe's already one hell of an asshat.

The challenge would be to create a bot that is not an asshat, yet remains competitive.
