Error when I try to play my map

Post by tssr07 » Sat Jan 15, 2005 2:09 pm

I get this

There was an error trying to load that file:

java.lang.Exception: Error in country "null": You are using an <id> that is too high (20). Note that the <id>s must start at 0, not 1.

and it delete part of a continent called "Bridge" which is two pieces. How am I to fix this?

Whatever this is stupid. It now freezes every time I try to connect more countries...it deletes some of my countries and all my extra lines every time I open it. At least I didn't pay for map creation!

The map editor is a very new addition to Lux, and I think Dustin is aware that there are still a few bugs or unimplemented features...it is useful for creating the outlines of maps, but at the end of the day it is still always better to go through the resulting code by hand to fix any errors. To do this, open the saved file in a plain text editor, and study the way it is built...countries nested inside continents, etc. Be sure that your country ID's start at 0, and increment by 1. Errors are often caused by trying to link to a country ID that doesn't exist, or having your ID's start at 1 instead of 0, etc.
