Mafia XXXIV (Medieval Mafia): Game on!

Post by The Silken Knot » Sun Mar 10, 2013 8:21 pm

  • Luxingham, shortly after sunset.

Boys will be boys. The youngsters of Luxingham were no exception. After a Sunday spent mostly in tow of their devout parents, they were wilder than usual now. Set free at last, each was challenging the next into further acts of daring, until, now, they were all headed to the Top Bridge to lay in wait for the Delicious Lady Godiva. During daylight, it had seemed a harmless enough way to prove their incipient manhood, but with darkness rapidly falling... ghosts on metal dragons sounded less appealing. Even luscious naked female ghosts.

Still, the lads pushed on. In the gloom, Eldrich thought he saw a tonsured figure following them under cover of the Old Wood. He paused, and the others did too. Then the unmistakable sounds of splashing oars coming from the river sent them all fleeing for hearth and home. Something, or some things, unwholesome were creeping about Luxingham on this Night.
It is now Night One in Luxingham. All role PMs have been sent to players. The Night will last ~ 24 hours, until 7:59PM EDT (US) on Monday. Please PM me by then if you would like to perform a Night Action, use a special item, or did not receive your role PM. No talking in the thread at Night, please.

  • There are certain advantages to being a Wise Herbalist.

Mud had spent a pleasant day tending to his garden. And now he was looking forward to an even more pleasant night, enjoying the fruits of his labors. He smiled as he made the short walk to the drying shed.

There are worse ways to die than with a smile on one's face.
******

Mud has died. He was the Wise Herbalist.

It is now Day One. You may discuss the evening's events, vote to lynch a player, issue a challenge to joust... just be done by 7:59 PM on Tuesday, when Night Two will fall.

Rhye notices Mafia XXX was completely omitted. :smt109

(Then again, we did have a pretty good run in... Mafia XXVIII, I think it was. We would have succeeded if not for paranoiarodeo and those rotten kids!)

I investigated Whirlplaid and he came out as GUILTY which means he's either a Viking or the Gypsy Tinker.

I vote WHIRLPLAID

Let the games begin.

I am an innocent. I am NOT guilty. I challenged clubie to a joust... he will fall immediately to his death proving that he is bad and I am good. Once the joust is over my innocence will be proven. Do not vote for me today, if what I stated turns out to be false, then definitely vote for me tomorrow. But I will state this again, I am innocent, I am good, clubie is bad and will die during the joust proving his bad affiliations.

I don't need to vote for clubie and nobody else does either, he will die during the joust.

For now I ABSTAIN.

Challenging me to a joust simply further proves my case. Because YOU made the challenge you can still win being a Viking. If I had challenged you, you would lose immediately. Note: in previous games I voted for Whirlplaid without any proof but simply because it was funny to do so; today I come to you with my investigation's result. Don't let it go to waste and give Whirl a chance to escape with his miserable life.... If he is lynched and proven NOT to be a Viking I will offer myself up for lynching on day two, no questions asked

Ignoring all this silliness between Whirly and n00less (boys will be boys, after all), I'm more curious about this:
SunTzu wrote:Let's get this party started... I vote for Enzo1997.
Any particular reason for Enzo, Sun? Or is this just a shot in the dark? Might be nice to have a little more info to go on. So early in the game I never know who to trust...

Yeah dude, explain yourself outta this bag... why would I challenge you if I were a viking? What good would it do?

Note: in previous games I voted for Whirlplaid without any proof but simply because it was funny to do so; today I come to you with my investigation's result.
This is a straight up lie. He did not do an investigation with guilty results. I am innocent, clubie is lying, he will die after the joust.
Don't let it go to waste and give Whirl a chance to escape with his miserable life.... If he is lynched and proven NOT to be a Viking I will offer myself up for lynching on day two, no questions asked
I guarantee that clubie will NOT be alive on day two because he will already be dead from the joust, so his offer to self lynch is null and void.
Again, do not vote for me, do not vote for clubie... it is a wasted vote for him since he will die from the joust and a wasted vote for me because I am innocent.

I Abstain for now until further evidence is brought forth.

Because if you were a Viking, you CAN win if you make the challenge, but CAN'T win if you receive the challenge. Challenging me is just a WP thing that you'd do in most games anyway from our little Mafia-History. It was just lucky that I was able to investigate you last night (hoping to find you innocent and us on the same time for ONCE) and found you Guilty.

RULES CLARIFICATION:

If a player is pardoned from a lynch vote, they can still joust that morning. If not, they'll be hanged before the joust would take place.

To clubie: Pfffffffffffft... backpedal much?

To all other mafia players: my previous comments stand unaltered.

In the absence of valid reasons to vote for someone, I will vote for people based on their past performances in Mafia games. Four players are on that list, and Enzo just happened to win the first dice roll.

By the way, n00less cluebie is either the Sheriff or is Mafia/Cult and guaranteed to lose the joust tomorrow. He wouldn't claim an investigation otherwise...

I'm gonna go with Sun and vote Enzo based on previous game play (hurt innocents as an innocent). He actually was mafia with me once as well and disappeared for like 3 days and got Mani and I killed...so yeah I'll gang up.

I'm going to Abstain for now.

This isn't the first time I've seen n00less try to manipulate a vote like this and be guilty.

I'm in wait and see mode.

I'm not manipulating anything. I can't be any clearer. I'm sheriff and investigated Whirlplaid and got a GUILTY result! This is a very provable claim. If he isn't a Viking I'll vote to lynch myself tomorrow!

So wait, even if we vote Whirl dead, he can joust n00, our supposed Sheriff and they'll both die?

Joust will come first... then the lynching... in this case, if you vote the way you vote Will, then I will joust clubie who will die, PROVING MY INNOCENCE, then I will die from the lynching. The only reason clubie is doing this is from our previous mafia fueds and he is trying to throw me under the bus. I AM NOT BAD. I AM INNOCENT. DO NOT VOTE FOR ME TODAY, LET THE DUEL PROVE MY INNOCENCE. Notice how I am not trying to lynch anyone, I only have the feud with clubie.

WRONG, though a nice try to weasel yourself out of it

If you are lynched you WON'T be able to joust and wriggle out of death
